Studium der Biologie, Philosophie und Ethnologie an den Universitäten Gießen, Konstanz und Freiburg/Br., dort Abschluss als Diplom-Biologin.Wissenschaftliche Mitarbeiterin am Institut für Landschaftsökologie der TU München. Im Jahr 2000 Promotion mit einer philosophisch-historischen Arbeit über „Frühe Ökologie im wissenschaftlichen und kulturellen Kontext“ (summa cum laude). Post-Doc an der Maison des Science de l'homme in Paris, anschließend Wissenschaftliche Mitarbeiterin am Institut für Philosophie der TU Darmstadt. 2006/07 Fellow bei der Forschergruppe „Science in the context of application“ am ZIF Bielefeld, im SS 2010 Vertretungsprofessur (Philosophie) an der Hochschule Darmstadt, ab WS 2010/11 assoziierte Forscherin an der Universität Basel, Lehrstuhl Wissenschaftsforschung. Seit Sommer 2010 wissenschaftliche Leitung des ANR/DFG Projektes „Genesis and Ontology of technoscientific Objects“ zusammen mit Alfred Nordmann (Darmstadt) und Bernadette Bensaude-Vincent (Paris).
