New publication: Trust, Responsibility, and Digital Governance: Regulation of AI and Blockchain Technology from a Capacity-Based Perspective
2025/12/06
We are pleased to announce the forthcoming publication of the edited volume Trust, Responsibility, and Digital Governance: Regulation of AI and Blockchain Technology from a Capacity-Based Perspective, edited by Sebastian Bücker, Marcus Düwell, Andreas Kaminski, and Michael Leyer.
In an era marked by increasingly complex and opaque digital systems, existing ethical guidelines and regulatory frameworks often assume that individuals and organisations are sufficiently equipped to evaluate these technologies in terms of justice, reliability, and other normative criteria. This volume challenges that assumption.
Its contributors present a capacity-based approach to digital governance, offering new perspectives on how societies can better assess, regulate, and shape AI, blockchain, and other digital infrastructures. The open access book will be available at the end of December.
